This time the fashion week which started on February 10 has a special attraction as it has a theme related to the environment.

It is giving the world a new vision to consider the fashion show.

Copenhagen fashion week was started in 2006 with a low-level fan club and in 2023 it will set the fan apart from the main fashion weeks in different places like New York, Paris, Milan, and London.

Based on the United Nations’ sustainable development goals The theme is set for the same goal.

Venue

Spring Studios at 50 Varick Street is the headquarter but shows are held across the city.

Ticket

Fashion week has two types of shows 1) Industry and 2)open-to-the-public shows. So if anyone wants to get a ticket they can go to public shows.

Cecilie Thorsmark is the chief executive officer of Copenhagen fashion week and stated that

“he had a clear idea of what he wanted to do differently.”

What is a sustainable theme

50% of fashionable wear must be made using textiles of new-generation materials which are alternatives to animal-based raw materials such as leather.

Deadstock or recycled as well as upcycled materials are also allowed for the fashion week.

Though fur is banned, but any unsold stock from previous collections cannot be destroyed immediately.

Brands must ensure working with suppliers and chains are free from child labor and that factories are providing safe and fair working conditions to laborers.

Thorsmark says that she has taken the job in 2018 to challenge the role and purpose of fashion week and in 2023 the theme is the biggest achievement for them to change the vision towards fashion show.

and Simon and Nanna Wick say that

“creating from what already is” has always been their ethics since they founded their streetwear company in 2018.

Charlotte Eskildsen has passed the contradictory statement that

“Fashion will not going to be sustainable and we know that we all are partially contributing to an industry that creates pollution in  way more than it should do.”

He is a co-founder of the Danish named The Garment.

The words of Fiona Gooch, a senior policy adviser:

“The actions of large brands cause poverty wages and unsafe conditions and undermine smaller fashion brands who regularly use the same suppliers.”

Barry has praised the fashion show idea and says,

“The Copenhagen fashion week is  far better than nothing, but all fashion shows should move on  by introducing sustainability standards in it and they could drive useful and meaningful change in changing the world.”

Gurung exclaimed that New York Fashion Week for him was a “magical and mystery journey as he was exploring the Buddhist concept of Anichya in the fashion show.

Gurung wore an oversized sweater with a yellow butterfly knit. He also wore a pink and embroidered cocoon coat.  “there’s a lot of strength needed to it,” Prabal Gurung also accepted the hardness of his idea.

30 brands were approached, and 28 qualified for the fashion show three years later. All the Applications were first reviewed by a show committee made up of industry experts and then checked and verified by Rambo which is the outsider company to finalize the list.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America calendar is hosting the event of this sustainable fashion week.

The fashion sector is blamed for 10% of the world’s total carbon emissions each year and fabric dyeing and treatments are responsible for 20% of the world’s wastewater production each year.
